19thC Vintage Skis

An interesting pair of antique wooden skis from Kobenhavn (Copenhagen) in good original condition. The timber has a rich worn polish, completely original metal bindings and a brass name plate still intact -  a very decorative element for a ski lodge or mountain cabin.

On the bindings is: Gresshoppa Made in Norway L'ABEE-LUND'S Patent -  Johan Henrik L'Abée-Lund, 1862-1962 was a Norwegian engineer.

The seperate brass plate shows the name and address of a well-known Camping and Outdoor equipment shop in Norregard. Research reveals that Danish resident, Captain Cay Lembcke, co-founder of the Danish Scouts owned this store and was passionate about the benefits of outdoor activities and camping.
